Keith Tyler, Founder & Principal

My background includes M&A advisory with Cascadia Capital, a lower middle-market investment bank in Seattle, WA, where I focused on the consumer, retail, and agribusiness sectors.

More recently, I spent the past three years on the Corporate Finance team of Saltchuk Resources, Inc., a $3Bn family of transportation and logistics companies, also based in Seattle.

At Saltchuk I led diverse teams across departments and portfolio companies to allocate over $250M of capital annually. This role provided me with the opportunity to work closely with decision-makers at our smaller operating companies, advising on the prudent investment of resources both into existing lines of business and external acquisitions.

While I enjoyed the challenge and experience of finance, my close working relationship with these managers further confirmed my goal to operate a small business.

Prior to business school and my work in the private sector, I spent eight years as an Army Ranger within the 75th Ranger Regiment. I was honored to lead America’s elite soldiers on seven combat deployments and hundreds of time-sensitive, high-priority missions.

My experience as a Non-Commissioned Officer and Squad Leader instilled a sense of humble, servant leadership. Listening to the experience of those around me, from high-ranking officers to the youngest Privates, while recognizing and tapping the potential hidden within those around me were critical skill sets to effective problem solving.

Following my service in the Army, I chose to attend Harvard Business School and spend time in finance to develop the technical skills and business acumen necessary to one day lead a small business in my local community.

I grew up in small town New Hampshire where I gained an appreciation for the impact small businesses and their leaders have on a community.

The Army brought me to the Pacific Northwest, where I met my wife, Bri, a CPA and business valuation analyst from Tacoma. Together we are raising our three year-old son, Benjamin, and our one year-old daughter, Katherine.
